Hello,
I am a UKCP Registered Psychotherapist, qualifying with a master's in Psychotherapy in 2014. I am also a qualified psychodynamic supervisor.
Since then, I have worked full-time as a psychotherapist working with a range of people with various difficulties who have benefitted from psychotherapeutic treatment.
My approach to therapy involves creating a supportive confidential space where you can come regularly and to try and put words to what is going on for you, - hence, “the talking cure”.
Through my experience and training, I will listen carefully to you and share with you my thoughts about your experience in a way that hopefully helps to shed light on what may be going on, at a deeper perhaps unconscious level, or may offer fresh perspectives allowing new paths forward.
In this way, therapy takes the form of a conversation, but a unique one in that the conversation will very much be about you and what is going on for you.
We will inevitably be relating to each other and this can offer us the opportunity to understand the ways you have developed of relating to others, the world, and your own internal experiences. In this way understanding can be gained through experiencing and observation, provided we have together developed trust in the process allowing previously defended aspects of the self to emerge and be thought about with care.
Supervision
I am also a qualified psychodynamic supervisor.
